Squat With Resistant Band - Tighten's Glutes And Thighs
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and toes turned slightly out. Hold the dumbbell with both hands between thighs. Shift your hips back and drive your knees out as you squat down. Keep your lower back flat and chest facing forward. Go down until your thighs are parallel to the floor and then press back up to the starting position.
Beginner: Light Band 10 to 15 reps
Intermediate: Medium Band, 15 to 20 reps
Advanced: Heavy Band, 20 to 25 reps
Elbow To Knee With/Without Dumbbell
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart holding dumbbells, right arm up. (A) Simultaneously lift bent right knee out to the side at lip level and lower right elbow to meet knee. (B) Return to start and switch arm. (C) Repeat the exercise.
Beginner: 3 pounds, 10 to 15 reps
Intermediate: 5 pounds, 15 to 20 reps
Advanced: 8 to 10 pounds, 20 to 25 reps
Barbell Lunge - Thighs, Glutes, Arms
Hold a barbell behind your head and rest it comfortably on your shoulders. Stand tall and keep your head upright, with your feet shoulder-width apart. (A) Take a big step forward with your right foot, slowly lower your back knee directly down until it is just above the ground. (B) Switch sides. (C).
Beginner: 3-5pounds, 10 to 15 reps
Intermediate: 8-10 pounds 15 to 20 reps
Advanced: 15-20 pounds, 20 to 25 reps
The Plank Workout - Abdominals And Arms
Get into a plank position with arms straight. (A) Stay on your right elbow as the left arms remain straight. (B) Lower your left elbow too. (C) Then stay on your left elbow as the right elbow remains straight. (D). Variations on the basic plank, such as the side plank, target the oblique muscles -- the sides of the abs -- and the outer and inner thigh. Advanced exercisers can perform planks using the stability ball to improve balance.
Beginner: 5-10 seconds
Intermediate: 15 to 20 seconds
Advanced: 25-30 seconds
Bicep Curls - Arms
Begin holding one dumbbell in each hand. Let your arms relax by your sides with palms facing upward. Keep arms table and shoulders relaxed, bend at the elbow and left the weights forward your shoulders. Tighten your muscles as you lift the weight. Exhale while lifting. Then lower the weights to your sides and inhale, repeat.
Beginner: 3-5 pounds, 8-10 reps
Intermediate: 8-10 pounds Medium 10 to 15 reps
Advanced: Beginners: 15-20 pounds - 20-25 reps
