Medicine Ball Plie Squat With Overhead Press
Hold the ball above your head and stand with feet shoulder-width apart and toes turned slightly out. Bend your hips back and drive your knees out as you squat down. Keep your lower back flat and chest facing forward. Go down until your thighs are parallel to the floor and then press back up to the starting position.
Beginner: 3 pounds, 10 to 15 reps
Intermediate: 5 pounds, 15 to 20 reps
Advanced: 8 to 10 pounds, 20 to 25 reps
Elbow To Knee With Dumbbell
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart holding dumbbells, right arm up. (A) Simultaneously lift bent right knee out to the side at lip level and lower right elbow to meet knee. (B) Return to start and switch arm. (C) Repeat the exercise.
Beginner: 3 pounds, 10 to 15 reps
Intermediate: 5 pounds, 15 to 20 reps
Advanced: 8 to 10 pounds, 20 to 25 reps
Barbell Lunges
Hold a barbell behind your head and rest it comfortably on your shoulders. Stand tall and keep your head upright, with your feet shoulder-width apart. (A) Take a big step forward with your right foot, slowly lower your back knee directly down until it is just above the ground. (B) Switch sides. (C).
Beginner: 20 pounds, 10 to 15 reps
Intermediate: 30 pounds 15 to 20 reps
Advanced: 50 pounds, 20 to 25 reps
Chest Press Leg Up
Lie face-up, knees bent, feet hip-width and flexed on the floor. Holding weights, bend elbows at 90 degrees and open out to sides of shoulders (avoid letting arms rest on the floor, arms should hover just above the ground). (A) Extend arms up and in line with the center of the chest, hold one leg to the ceiling. (B) Switch legs.
Beginner: 3 pounds, 10 to 15 reps
Intermediate: 5 pounds, 15 to 20 reps
Advanced: 8 to 10 pounds, 20 to 25 reps
Planks
The plank is an exercise uses your own body weight for resistance and it works all of your body's muscles simultaneously, specifically the abdominal muscles and lower back. The exercise is traditionally performed as part of yoga and Pilates regimens but is effective for anyone looking to improve core strength and balance. Performing a plank requires no equipment; body weight and gravity provide sufficient resistance.
Get into a plank position with arms straight. (A) Stay on your right elbow as the left arms remain straight. (B) Lower your left elbow too. (C) Then stay on your left elbow as the right elbow remains straight. (D).
Variations on the basic plank, such as the side plank, target the oblique muscles -- the sides of the abs -- and the outer and inner thigh. Advanced exercisers can perform planks using the stability ball to improve balance.
Roberta, to answer your question about what you can use that can be a 'do-it-all' skin tightening product.
